Meikle Tòir The Sherry One is a heavily peated Speyside single malt, five years old, made by Billy Walker at the GlenAllachie distillery. It is bottled at 48%, with natural colour and without chill filtration.
The whisky matured fully in a mix of PX and Oloroso sherry casks, which pair dark sweetness with robust smoke.
The nose combines peat smoke with raisins, dates, leather, dark chocolate and espresso. On the palate it is thick, smoky and sweet, with treacle, dark berries, charred oak and cocoa. The PX adds sweetness and the Oloroso adds depth and nuttiness. The finish is long and smoky, with dried fruit and chocolate.
