Michter's – Unblended American Whiskey (41.7%)

Michter's Unblended American Whiskey is an American whiskey bottled at 41.7% ABV. It is matured in casks that previously held bourbon rather than in new oak, which is why it is not classed as a bourbon. The character is fruity and sweet, with toffee and butterscotch running through it, lifted by roasted notes, a little vanilla and dried fruit. The nose is candied and sweet, with peach, charcoal, cinnamon, nutmeg, menthol and candied orange peel. On the palate, sweet spice leads, with leather and tobacco alongside, and the finish fades gently.
