Michter's US*1 American Whiskey (75cl, 41.7%)

This is Michter's US*1 American Whiskey, made at the Michter's Fort Nelson Distillery in Louisville, Kentucky and bottled at 41.7% ABV in a 75cl bottle. It is aged in previously used bourbon barrels rather than new charred oak, which is why it is labelled American whiskey and not bourbon. The spirit is made from Michter's sour mash, and the used wood gives a mellow influence that lets the grain character come through. The nose offers sweetness, light oak and mint. The palate is mellow and balanced, with sweetness, oak, mint and spice. The finish is clean, with light oak spice and sweetness fading gently.
