Michter's US*1 Small Batch Kentucky Straight Bourbon (75cl, 45.7%)

Michter's US*1 Small Batch Kentucky Straight Bourbon is made at the Fort Nelson Distillery in Louisville, Kentucky, from a sour mash of select grains. It is bottled at 45.7% ABV in a 750ml bottle. Barrels are filled at about 103 proof, below the legal maximum, to preserve the grain character, and the warehouses are warmed in late autumn to extend the time the bourbon expands into the wood. The nose has camphor and concentrated sweetness, with corn, wood smoke and a hint of rye. The palate is rich and full-bodied, with caramel and spice, and the finish is long, with wood and sweet maple syrup.
