Michter's – US 1 Barrel Strength Rye 2021 Release

Michter's US 1 Barrel Strength Rye is a Kentucky straight rye whiskey from a single barrel, part of Michter's work since the 1990s to re-establish American rye. The first release came in May 2015, and this is the 2021 release. The rye distillate goes into the barrel at 103 proof, lower than is usual in the industry. Michter's says this costs more in barrels and warehousing but gives a richer, smoother, fuller-bodied whiskey. Each barrel is bottled at its own strength, so the proof varies from bottle to bottle.
