Michter's US*1 Single Barrel is a Kentucky straight rye whiskey, bottled at 42.4% ABV in a 70cl bottle. Each bottle comes from a single barrel and is not blended. The barrels are custom-charred oak, filled at a low entry proof and matured in heat-cycled warehouses.
The nose is spicy, with rye bread, black pepper, dried citrus peel and butterscotch. The palate is crisp, with mint, dark caramel, cherry wood and cinnamon, drying first and then sweetening towards oak. The finish is long and warming, with spice, cocoa and toasted oak.
