Midleton – Very Rare 2023 (70cl, 40%)

Midleton Very Rare 2023 is a blend of single pot still and single grain Irish whiskeys, put together by Master Distiller Kevin O'Gorman from Midleton's inventory. It is bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle. This year's release comes in a recyclable cardboard box, the first time the expression has been packaged this way since 1990, as part of a move towards sustainability. The nose has ripe fruit, ginger, peppercorns, dried flowers and golden syrup. The palate is creamy, with orange, apricot, camomile tea, floral spice and charred oak, and the finish is oak tannins and old grain whiskey.
