Midleton Very Rare 2025 is the 42nd release in the annual vintage series from Midleton Distillery, in a 70cl bottle. Master Distiller Kevin O'Gorman selected single pot still and single grain Irish whiskeys aged between 12 and 33 years.
All of it was matured in lightly charred ex-bourbon American oak barrels.
The nose is ripe green apple and sweet pear with vanilla bean, floral blossom, toasted oak, honeyed malt and gentle nutmeg. On the palate there are orchard fruits, candied orange peel, butterscotch, creamy vanilla, toasted coconut and warm clove. The finish is long and warm, with sweet fruit, gentle oak tannins and baking spices.
