Midleton Very Rare Vintage Release 2021 is the 38th annual release in the series and the first vintage selected by Master Distiller Kevin O'Gorman. It is a blend of 83% single pot still with single grain Irish whiskey, bottled at 40% ABV in a 700ml bottle. Each bottle is individually numbered and signed.
The whiskeys were aged for between 13 and 35 years in lightly charred ex-bourbon American oak, using third-fill casks. The oldest components include single pot still spirit from 1984.
The tasting notes describe mandarin orange, green banana, vanilla and pot still spice on the nose, then a creamy palate of red apple, orchard fruits and cinnamon, finishing extra long.
