Midleton Very Rare Vintage Release 2023 is an Irish whiskey blended from single pot still and single grain whiskeys. Master Distiller Kevin O'Gorman selected the components, and his signature appears on the release. The Midleton Very Rare series has been made since 1984.
The whiskey was matured in lightly charred ex-bourbon American oak barrels.
The nose is fruity, with nectarine, ripe melon, green apple and apricot, then ginger, crushed peppercorn, vanilla, honeycomb and roasted coffee. The palate is creamy, with camomile, candied orange and dried apricot. The finish ends on oak tannins and aged grain whiskey.
