Monoceros II is a single malt matured for nine years in a first-fill ruby port wine cask. It was distilled in 2012 and bottled in 2022 by Scotch Universe at 57.5% ABV, non-chill-filtered and of natural colour.
The nose has cane sugar and dark fruit, with red berry compote, cherries and stewed plums, plus a hint of pipe tobacco. The palate is rich, full and creamy, with cane sugar and flashes of black pepper, the red berry compote returning before stewed plum as the fruit builds. The finish is medium in length and very fruity.
