Morris Signature Australian Single Malt (70cl, 40%)

Morris Signature is an Australian single malt from Rutherglen in Victoria, twice distilled and bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle. It is not smoky, and takes its colour from the casks alone. The whisky first matured in ex-red wine casks of French and American oak, then received a finish in casks that previously held Morris liqueur wines. Morris has made liqueur wines since 1859, and this finish draws on that tradition. The nose combines orchard fruit, pickled dark cherries and sponge cake. The palate is round and smooth, with citrus marmalade, cocoa and dark berries, the cocoa staying to the end. The finish is long and rich, led by intense dried fruit.
