This is a 12 year old single cask GlenAllachie from Speyside, bottled by Murray McDavid at 50% ABV in a 70cl bottle. The distillery lies at the foot of Ben Rinnes and has been revived after a history of supplying blends.
The whisky spent 11 years in a 600-litre Sherry butt, then was filled into two freshly emptied European oak casks that had held Oloroso Sherry. After 21 months the spirit was reunited, balancing rich oak with the Scottish spirit. It is one of 287 bottles.
