Niepoort Tawny Port

This is a tawny port from Niepoort, made from grapes grown in the Douro Valley. The fruit comes from old, low-yielding vines and is picked by hand, then trodden by foot in large lagares. The port then ages for an average of three and a half years in small old oak barrels in the Niepoort cellars at Vila Nova de Gaia. The character is young and fruity. It suits a lightly chilled aperitif, pâté or foie gras, or a chocolate dessert.
