Nikka All Malt (70cl, 40%)

Nikka All Malt is a Japanese blended whisky bottled at 40% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It combines single malts from the Yoichi and Miyagikyo distilleries with a whisky made from 100% malted barley and distilled in a column still. In the glass it is old gold with golden hues. The nose is lively and mineral, with leather, smoked meat, a light smokiness of tobacco and ash, then fresh herbs and ripe apple. The palate is creamy and sweet at the start, moving to ripe white grapes and an increasingly oily texture. The finish is smooth and liquorice-infused, with noble wood, clove, coconut milk and honeysuckle.
