This is a Japanese malt whisky from Nikka, labelled Pure & Rich and made entirely from malt. It is bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle. The nose is sweet and caramel-led, with malt, vanilla, toffee and marshmallow, alongside apple, citrus, and hints of leather, tobacco and light smoke. The palate is round and light on the tongue but buttery and creamy, with malt sweetness, honey, shortbread and orange chocolate. The finish is short to medium, clean and slightly dry, with wood, peppery oak spice and a little smoke.

Nose

Caramel and sweet; malt, vanilla, toffee, marshmallow, apple, citrus, hints of leather, tobacco and light smoke

Palate

Round, light but buttery and creamy; malt sweetness, honey, shortbread, orange chocolate

Finish

Short to medium, clean and slightly dry; wood, peppery oak spice, a little smoke
