Nikka Black Special (72cl, 42%)

Nikka Black Special is a blended Japanese whisky bottled at 42% in a 720ml bottle. It comes from the company founded by Masataka Taketsuru, who travelled to Scotland to learn the craft of whisky making and met his wife Rita Cowan there. After returning to Japan, he set up his own distilling company in Yoichi, on the northern island of Hokkaido, in 1934. He chose the area because he thought it the part of Japan most like Scotland, and he later renamed the company Nikka.
