Nikka Coffey Malt Whisky (70cl, 45%)

This is a Japanese whisky from Nikka, bottled at 45% in a 70cl bottle. It is made entirely from malted barley, distilled in Coffey stills, which are normally used for grain whisky, and so it is classed as a grain whisky. The whisky is chill-filtered and has added colour. The nose is lively, with citrus, pear and vanilla. The palate is creamy and pastry-like, with plum, raisins, vanilla, praline and biscuit. The finish is full, with mirabelle plum and a fresh touch of liquorice.
