Nikka Discovery The Grain

Nikka Discovery The Grain is a Japanese grain whisky that draws on spirit from four distilleries. It combines Coffey grain and Coffey malt whisky from the now-closed Nishinomiya distillery, Coffey grain and malt from Miyagikyo, and pot-distilled whiskies from Moji and Satsumatsukasa, both of which originally specialised in shochu. The Coffey grain is made from corn and malted barley, and the Coffey malt from 100% malted barley. One pot-distilled component uses malted and unmalted barley, another malted barley, corn and rye. It is described as delicate and creamy in texture, with vanilla, fragrant herbal honey and elegant spice.
