Nikka From the Barrel Extra Marriage 40th Anniversary Edition (50cl, 51.4%)

Nikka From the Barrel Extra Marriage is an anniversary edition marking 40 years of Nikka From the Barrel, first released in 1985 in its square bottle. It comes in a 50cl bottle at 51.4% ABV. The blend brings together Yoichi and Miyagikyo single malts with grain whiskies that are mostly corn-based, and it is married for twice as long as the original. The grain whiskies were distilled in Coffey stills imported from Scotland in 1963 for the Nishinomiya site, which were moved to Miyagikyo in 1999. It is described as energetic yet refined, a rich whisky in which each component keeps its own character.
