Nikka Miyagikyo 10 Year Old is a Japanese single malt from the Miyagikyo distillery on the island of Honshu, bottled at 45% in a 70cl bottle. It is the most subtle and least peated of Nikka's single malts, and a firm whisky in the manner of Speyside single malts.
The colour is amber with an orange shimmer. The nose shows malted barley with slight touches of vanilla and caramel, citrus, a touch of beer yeast, hops and smokiness, all with a fine woodiness from the bourbon barrels.
The palate brings oak, coconut and milk chocolate. The finish is firm and vegetal, with slightly bitter notes and spice.
