Miyagikyo Fruity & Rich is a single malt from Nikka's Miyagikyo distillery in Miyagi, Japan. It carries no age statement and is bottled at 55% ABV in a 500ml bottle, as a distillery limited release.
Miyagikyo is known for a milder, fruit-led style, which the distillery attributes to steam heating of its stills, giving a lighter and more delicate spirit than direct firing. This bottling was matured in oak casks.
The nose is usually described as orchard fruit, with crisp green apple and juicy pear, honeyed sweetness, floral perfume and a little wood. The palate is rich, with a full mouthfeel and ripe apple.
