Miyagikyo Single Malt comes from the Miyagikyo Distillery, which Nikka founder Masataka Taketsuru built in a valley in Miyagi prefecture as his second distillery. It began operating in 1969. This bottle holds 70cl at 45% ABV. The malts are made from lightly peated and unpeated malted barley and distilled in pot stills heated by indirect steam. Miyagikyo whiskies are described as elegant and fruity, with a delicate mouthfeel.
