Nikka Tailored (70cl, 43%)

Nikka Tailored is a Japanese blended whisky in a 70cl bottle, bottled at 43%. It combines single malts from the Miyagikyo and Yoichi distilleries with grain whisky distilled in Nikka's Coffey still. The whisky was matured mainly in ex-American oak casks and ex-sherry casks. The official notes describe a nose of raisins, sultanas and baked apples with toffee, which turns waxy over time. The palate is fresh with apple and pear pie and sultanas, then builds with nutmeg, cinnamon and clove. The finish opens with mint and fades to cinnamon, oak and fresh apple.
