Nikka Taketsuru Pure Malt (70cl, 43%)

Nikka Taketsuru Pure Malt is a blended malt whisky, bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. It is named in honour of Masataka Taketsuru, who learned whisky-making in Scotland and went on to produce whisky in Japan. Taketsuru chose two sites, Yoichi and Miyagikyo, and built a distillery at each, having learned that the natural surroundings of a distillery matter to quality. The nose shows mature aromas from a sherry cask, and a high proportion of Miyagikyo malt gives the palate a fresh, fruity character.
