Nikka Taketsuru Pure Malt Old Label (70cl, 43%)

Nikka Taketsuru Pure Malt is a Japanese malt whisky, bottled at 43% ABV in a 70cl bottle and presented in the Old Label livery. Nikka's story begins with Masataka, the first Japanese to master whisky-making in Scotland and produce genuine whisky in Japan. Having learned that the natural surroundings of a distillery matter for quality, he chose two sites, Yoichi and Miyagikyo, and built a distillery at each. This malt is gentle and fruity, with a well-balanced taste. The nose shows mature aromas from an important sherry cask, and the palate has a fresh, fruity character from a high proportion of Miyagikyo malt.
