Octomore 13.3, The Impossible Equation, is a heavily peated five-year-old Islay single malt bottled at 61.1% ABV. It is made from Concerto barley grown at Octomore Farm, harvested in 2015 and distilled in 2016. The spirit matured partly in first-fill ex-American whiskey casks and partly in second-fill European oak casks that previously held wines from Rivesaltes in France and Ribera del Duero in Spain. The nose is sweet malt sugar with little peat at first, then green fruit, rose, geranium, apricot and eucalyptus. On the palate, honey and brown sugar sit alongside smoked nuts, leather and warmed orange marmalade, with the peat quiet to begin with. The finish brings the smoke forward, joined by nutty, fruity and salty, mineral notes.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
