A 15 year old Kentucky straight bourbon from Old Fitzgerald, bottled in bond at 100 proof and presented in a glass decanter. It is a wheated bourbon from Heaven Hill, matured until November 2019, with a mash bill of 75% corn, 20% wheat and 5% malted barley.
The decanter takes its inspiration from the brand's original 1950s diamond design. Old Fitzgerald was first registered in 1884 and later passed to Julian P. 'Pappy' Van Winkle, before Heaven Hill bought the brand in 1999.
The nose brings cherry, dark fruit, vanilla and caramel. Brown sugar, barrel char and toasted oak lead the palate, and the long finish carries cinnamon, aged oak and clove.
