Old Rip Van Winkle 10 Year Old Bourbon (75cl, 53.5%)

This is a ten-year-old wheated Kentucky straight bourbon from the Van Winkle family, made at Buffalo Trace in Frankfort to the wheated recipe associated with Pappy Van Winkle. Wheat replaces rye as the secondary grain. It is bottled at 107 proof (53.5% ABV) with only a small addition of Kentucky limestone water. The nose offers sweet vanilla, caramel and pecan with warm oak. The palate is rich and full, with robust wheat, dried cherry, caramel and well-integrated oak. The finish is long and warming, with smoky wheat, dried fruit, spice and oak tannins.
