Omar Lychee Liqueur Barrel Finish Cask Strength Single Malt Whisky (70cl, 53%)

This is a cask strength single malt from Nantou Distillery in Taiwan, bottled at 53% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It spent three to four years maturing in ex-bourbon casks before a finish in a lychee liqueur barrel. That barrel had held a liqueur made from fresh lychee from the mountain near Nantou, and the finish was chosen to create the distillery's particular style. The colour is amber. The nose has pineapple, orange, malt, vanilla, toffee, lychee and wood. The palate is sweet with lychee and a hint of butter and honey, and the finish is smooth, fruity and oaky.
