This is a cask strength peated single malt from Nantou Distillery in Taiwan, bottled at 57.8% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It is matured in bourbon casks and made from Scottish peated malt, the first Taiwanese whisky to be made that way.
The distillery links its peaty aroma to a Taiwanese character, one that recalls baked sweet potato. The colour is golden.
The nose is fruity, with honey, butter, citrus, smoke and peat, tinned fruit and malt. The palate is strong and smoky with a sweet, complex texture, and the finish is very long, smoky and sweet.
