Omar Peated Malt Bourbon Cask Strength (70cl, 57.8%)

Omar Peated Malt Bourbon Cask Strength is a Taiwanese whisky bottled at 57.8% ABV in a 70cl bottle after maturation in bourbon casks. It is described as the first Taiwanese whisky made from Scottish peated malt, and a first step in the country's whisky production. Scottish peat and malt combine with Taiwanese terroir to give a peaty aroma that is linked to baked sweet potato, a traditional Taiwanese street food. The colour is golden. The nose is fruity, with honey, butter, citrus, tinned fruit, smoke, peat and malt, plus a hint of baked sweet potato. The palate is strong, smoky and peaty with a complex, sweet texture, and the finish is very long.
