Omar Plum Liqueur Barrel Finished Cask Strength Single Malt (70cl, 53%)

This is a cask strength single malt from Nantou Distillery in Taiwan, finished in plum liqueur barrels and bottled at 53% in a 70cl bottle. The distillery also makes fruit wine from green plums grown in Nantou, and plum character is the idea behind this bottling. The colour is bronze. The nose brings smoked plum, joss stick and spice, with a wild tropical fruit sweetness and fruit fudge. The palate is heavy-bodied, sour and sweet, with green plum, vanilla and creamy candy. The finish is long and complex, with liquorice, orange peel and oak.
