Onikishi Japanese Blended Malt Whisky (70cl, 43%)

Onikishi is a Japanese blended malt whisky bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. It is made in Takacho Town, in Hyogo Prefecture, and produced in batches. It can be drunk neat, over ice or in a Highball. The nose is woody from white oak, with honey, a floral myrtle note and a touch of citrus. The palate opens with a rush of honey and vanilla, then turns to a more robust caramel that coats the mouth, before warm cedar smoke arrives mid palate. A kick of yuzu zest finishes it, cutting across the early sweetness.
