Orkney Sponge Edition No. 1 1998 Highland Park 23 Year Old Single Cask Single Malt Scotch Whisky (70cl, 57%)

Orkney Sponge Edition No. 1 is a single cask Highland Park, a collaboration between the Whisky Sponge and Old Orkney brands. It is a 23 year old from a 1998 refill hogshead, bottled at a natural cask strength of 57% ABV in a 70cl bottle. Only 277 bottles were produced. It is described as surprisingly peaty, with an almost old style Highland Park profile: dry herbal and medical notes and plenty of coastal freshness. Old Orkney was the brand once associated with Stromness distillery, which closed in the 1920s.
