Orphan Barrel Lost Prophet 22 Year Kentucky Straight Bourbon (75cl, 62.9%)

Orphan Barrel Lost Prophet is a 22 year old Kentucky straight bourbon, distilled at Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort and bottled at 62.85% ABV in a 75cl bottle. It comes from the high-rye Buffalo Trace mashbill. The name nods to the legend of Elijah Craig, the Baptist minister credited with inventing charred oak barrel ageing in 1789. Orphan Barrel Whiskey Co. was set up to find and bottle aged American whiskeys discovered in the backs of distillery rickhouses. The nose offers dried fruit, aged oak, caramel and warm rye spice. The palate is rich and concentrated, with deep oak, dried fruit and leather, and the finish is long and evolving.
