Pappy Van Winkle Family Reserve Rye 13 Year Old (75cl, 47.8%)

Van Winkle Family Reserve Rye is a 13-year-old Kentucky straight rye whiskey, made at the Buffalo Trace distillery in Frankfort to Pappy Van Winkle's standards. It is bottled at 47.8% ABV (95.6 proof) in a 750ml bottle. At 13 years it is an aged rye in a category where most were five years or younger when it first appeared. It is usually taken neat. The nose brings soft chestnut, spice, vanilla and fruit, with caramel and sweet tobacco. The palate is smooth and medium to full in body, with cocoa, toffee, roasted nuts and leather. The finish is long and warm, with white pepper, dried fruit and dry oak.
