Pappy Van Winkle's Family Reserve 23 Year Old is a Kentucky straight bourbon distilled at the Buffalo Trace Distillery. It is a limited release in which each barrel has aged for 23 years, selected from the heart of the warehouse. This bottle has a dipped gold wax capsule and comes with a black velvet bag.
The nose shows caramel and cream with soft oak, nuts and leather. The palate is sweet, with vanilla, maple and honey alongside citrus and spice, and the finish is long and oaky.
