This ten-year-old Penderyn is the 13th bottling in the Icons of Wales Collection, made for the tenth anniversary of Bad Wolf Studios in Cardiff. It was matured entirely in very old tawny port pipes that had held port for around 60 years, rather than given a short finish. It is bottled at 46%, not chill-filtered and without added colour.
The nose opens with orange blossom and rose petals, then spiced fruitcake, raisins and fig jam. The palate has stewed dark fruit, toffee, marzipan and bittersweet orange marmalade, and the long finish brings dried apricot, salted caramel and nutmeg.
