Penderyn 12 Year Old is a Special Release single malt from the Penderyn distillery in Wales, made from malted barley. It is bottled by The Welsh Whisky Company at 46% in a 70cl bottle.
The spirit spent twelve years maturing, and the whisky is described as fruity in style, with a balance of ripe fruit, creamy sweetness and light spice.
The nose combines red berries and ripe plums with light honey, vanilla and subtle oak. The palate is soft and creamy, with vanilla fudge, juicy cherries, baked apple and a little nutmeg. The finish is long, with sweet vanilla and red berries, then a touch of toasted oak.
