Penderyn Copperopolis – Sweet Red Wine Finish – Icons of Wales No. 12 (70cl, 46%)

Penderyn Copperopolis is a Welsh single malt, the twelfth release in the Icons of Wales series. It is bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle, non-chill-filtered and with no colour added. The name looks back to Swansea, which became an important centre of copper working from 1720. Penderyn's newer distillery in Swansea stands in the powerhouse of a former copper works. The whisky is finished in sweet red wine casks, which bring a fruity, sweet character. It is distilled on the distillery's own Faraday still, a copper still with a column of perforated plates.
