Penderyn Madeira Cask Finish is a Welsh single malt matured first in ex-bourbon casks and then finished in ex-Madeira wine casks. It is bottled at 46% ABV, without chill-filtration or added colour. The spirit comes from Penderyn's Faraday still, which draws it off at up to 92% ABV for a light, fruity style, and the Madeira finish was recommended by Dr Jim Swan.
The nose is fresh, with cream toffee, ripe fruit and raisins. The palate is well defined and softly rounded, its sweetness balanced by a lively dryness. Tropical fruit, raisins and vanilla linger in the finish.
