Penderyn – Myth (70cl, 41%)

Penderyn Myth is a Welsh single malt in a 70cl bottle, bottled at 41%. It was aged in casks that previously held red wine and in American oak ex-bourbon casks, some from Buffalo Trace. The name draws on the red dragon of Wales. Like all Penderyn whiskies, it is bottled non-chill-filtered. The colour is gold. The nose is fresh, sweet and lively, with citrus, apples, pears and tropical fruit giving way to vanilla and caramel. The palate follows the fruit with a pleasantly sweet return, then gradually shows spiced oak and a very slight bitterness.
