Penderyn Portwood Finish is a Welsh single malt matured twice: first in ex-bourbon barrels from Kentucky, almost to full maturity, then in Portuguese ex-port barriques. It is bottled at 45% in a 70cl bottle.
The second maturation gives a rich blush colour with copper hues. The nose is syrupy port character with milky coffee and dark chocolate. The palate opens with fresh strawberry and cream toffee, then vanilla, with dates, raisins and jam following. The finish is sweet and lingering, with honey and sticky treacle.
