Platte Valley is a corn whiskey made entirely from corn, using a traditional method that is now rarely followed. It comes in a 70cl stoneware jug at 40% ABV. It is made at the McCormick distillery in Weston, Missouri, which has stood on its original site since the Holladay brothers, Ben and David, founded it in 1856. Corn whiskey is often matured for only around six months, but this one spends three years in the cask, so the wood has a greater influence on its flavour and colour. The jug itself comes from Poland. It is described as very soft and enjoyable.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
