Port Askaig 8 Year Old is an Islay single malt Scotch whisky from the independent bottler Elixir Distillers, sold in a 70cl bottle. It takes its name from the harbour village on the east coast of Islay, known as the gateway to the island. The whisky is bottled at 45.8% ABV, non-chill-filtered and with its natural colour. Its character is described as soft, sweet and peaty. It is often suggested as an introduction to the smoky whiskies of Islay, though experienced drinkers may also find plenty here to interest them.
