Port Askaig Sherry Cask is an Islay single malt matured in Oloroso sherry butts and bottled at 50.5% in a 70cl bottle. It is non-chill-filtered and of natural colour.
Peat smoke sits alongside dark sherry character, with dark chocolate, cherries, orange zest and spicy oak, joined by charcoal smoke, sea air and a savoury barbecue note.
The nose brings smoked plum jam, blackcurrant, pepper, roast meat, orange and liquorice. The palate is dense, with sherried fruit, dark chocolate, cherries, pepper sauce and barbecue notes. The finish is long, spicy and dark, with cocoa nibs, herbs, mint and strong berry fruit.
