Quinta do Vallado Late Bottled Vintage Port 2018 (75cl, 20.5%)

This is a 2018 Late Bottled Vintage Port from Quinta do Vallado, a Douro estate founded in 1716 and still owned by the same family. The grapes come from vineyards the quinta controls in Rio Torto. The wine is made from a field blend of grapes from old vines. Twenty per cent of it is aged for three years in toneis, traditional wooden barrels, and the remaining 80% in stainless steel vats. The nose is elegant, with black fruits and warm spices. The palate is well balanced, with black cherries and soft tannins, followed by an intense, lingering finish.
