Raasay Dun Cana Sherry Quarter Cask is a single malt from Raasay, bottled at 52% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It is natural colour and non-chill filtered. The release is named after the island's volcanic mountain.
Peated and unpeated spirit was matured first in American oak casks that previously held Woodford Reserve rye, then in Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry quarter casks. Dun Cana is an annual release, and each edition differs slightly in cask make-up or age.
It is described as peppery and spicy, with dried sultanas and hints of vanilla. The finish brings lingering salty chocolate and a light touch of aromatic wood smoke.
