Raasay – Na Sia Unpeated Chinkapin Oak Cask (61.4%)

This is an unpeated Raasay single malt, Na Sia, matured in Chinkapin oak and bottled at 61.4%. Chinkapin is an oak native to central and eastern North America, and the casks were custom made, freshly charred and toasted. The fresh charring brings colour and flavour early in maturation, while the high toast caramelises the natural sugars in the wood, giving dark fruit flavours and deep colour at a young age. The series is released every two years, in peated and unpeated versions. The nose is expected to show sweet toffee and butterscotch.
